Lan Kwai Fong is Party Central for the best food, drinks and clubs in Hong Kong and the Asia Region. It all started in 1983 when Allan Zeman opened one special California restaurant and bar in order to entertain his overseas textile clients. Up till then, the district was home to flower stalls, printing shops and small textile factories. Many thought the short walk up the hill from the Central business district would deter potential restaurant & bar customers. This was clearly untrue as California was an overnight hit and became the hottest spot in Hong Kong for both dining and late night partying.
Other venues soon followed, transforming the one block district into everyone's favourite meeting point and bar-hopping turf. Lan Kwai Fong Entertainments is the biggest group in the area, and today owns and operates over nine restaurants and bars. Our expertise has also led to successful ventures outside of Hong Kong such as our Phuket luxury villas and restaurants.
The key to our success is taking popular styles and cuisines and tailoring them to our target market of successful, fun-loving consumers which represent a melting pot of international cultures; all the while maintaining authenticity with the original concept. Highlights include Colonial-Vietnamese creations from Indochine 1929, contemporary cuisine at Thai Lemongrass, and contemporary blends of global flavours at Lux.
The district is also popular for Happy Hour drinks after a hard day's work, weekend DJs in several of our bars as well as our renovated California. Themed parties are also a regular fixture, with top fashion brands choosing the famous location to host glamorous events. Whatever you are after, you're bound to find it in Lan Kwai Fong. |
